About Deveriendt Farm

"We are a family farm and have been for over 25 years.   We work with our 3 children, Jesse, Jason and Erica, who have been working with us since they were old enough to pick vegetables.  We have been at our current location since 1995 where we started with a farm stand and 1 greenhouse.  We now have 12 greenhouses to start and grow all our own annuals, bedding plants, hanging plants, perennials and vegetable plants.  We also have outdoor growing space that we use for growing chrysanthemums, garden vegetables, cut flowers and Christmas trees.  We are currently growing over 600 Balsam, Blue Spruce, Fraser and Scottish Pine Christmas trees.  We will use these trees for future nursery stock as well as Christmas trees.   We have added 2 1/2 acres of pick your own strawberries at our new land purchase on Story Rd, about 5 minutes from our main farm.  We typically open in mid-June for picking strawberries.  Our latest venture is PYO Pumpkins on weekends in October with free hay rides to and from the pumpkin patch. Please call the farm for hours, directions and more information.

We have two wood fired furnaces that we use to heat our greenhouses.  We installed the furnaces back in 2008 when fuel prices were outrageous and could not justify passing this cost along to our customers.  We have since reduced our oil consumption by over 75%!  This change in how we heat our greenhouses has allowed us to maintain our prices as well as the quality of our plants for the past few years during this tough economy.  We try to keep our "carbon footprint" as low as we can by burning wood for fuel to heat the greenhouses, recycling as many plastic pots as we can and reusing the plastic carrying trays instead of giving them to the customers.  We use paper, instead of plastic, cups in the ice cream stand because it is recyclable, unlike styro foam containers.

We pride ourselves on providing everything from quality plants for your homes and gardens, to freshly picked produce for your families, to decorating your homes for the holidays.  If you have any questions or problems with your plants, please do not hesitate to contact us."

Thank you for your patronage and continued support,

Dan, Lea, Jesse, Jason & Erica
